There are some things that we learn only through practicing and experimenting.

Where theory is often taught in the ideal of a vacuum, practical is learned through the reality of life. Whilst theoretical baking knowledge is no doubt helpful, there is simply no substitute for actually getting your hands dirty. Hands-on baking sessions will lead you to a deeper understanding of knowledge that would otherwise seem to be purely theoretical in nature, through the act of doing and experimenting.

Practical Knowledge

Chef Tales strive to provide our participants with a thoroughly and complete baking experience. We offer engaging and interactive hands-on baking classes where students are able to put into action all the things that they have learnt. Quality class standards are strongly emphasized, and we ensure that our participants learn the fundamentals of baking during the lessons.

Yet, this does not compromise on the overall experience. While we hope all our participants end off the day with greater culinary knowledge than they arrived, we place equal importance in setting up the atmosphere to be a lively and interactive one.

Hands-on Baking Programme

1. Real World Application

Put into action the many techniques, tips and secrets that the chef instructor has imparted to you in the first half of the lesson.

2. Practical situations

Learn how to expertly navigate around  issues that you were never exposed to in theory lesson.  E.g. Mistakes, Time-limit, Stress etc

3. Know what you don't

We may never know what knowledge gaps we have until we try it out for ourselves. Learn from each cooking adventure and benefit from it!

4. Food Tasting

The classes will usually conclude with a food tasting session. Participants get to try out all the different bakeries that their peers have created

5. Smaller Class Size

Compared to demonstration classes, there is a smaller student-to-teacher ratio. Participants receive greater attention from the chef instructor.

6. Suitable for all levels

Our baking classes are appropriate for all demographic groups, from the novice-level bakers to the advanced baking enthusiasts.
